Question one
How Much Is Parking?
Port Canaveral keeps it refreshingly simple: one flat rate at official parking beside every terminal — no shuttle, no tiers by cruise length.

Same rate for a compact car or a full-size SUV — there's no weekly cap or AAA discount at the port lots. The rate covers both your arrival day and departure day.
What A Full Cruise Costs

Remember to count both your sail-away day and your return day — a 7-night cruise means 8 days of parking. Estimates use the $20/day rate plus tax.
Good to Know: You Pay on Arrival, By Card
Unlike some ports, Port Canaveral is pay-on-arrival — you settle up as you enter the lot, so have your payment ready. It's credit card at the terminal lots, and no reservations are taken (there's plenty of parking at every terminal, including oversized spaces). Lots open at 10 a.m. on embarkation days. One handy note: Terminal 3 also accepts SunPass.
Want to Spend Less on Parking?
A couple of miles from the terminals you'll find off-site lots starting around $13–$15/day with a free 5-minute shuttle — a nice saving on longer cruises. Or, if you're staying nearby the night before, some Cocoa Beach hotels offer a "park & cruise" package that bundles your room with parking for the week. Ask me and I'll help you compare.

How Do I Park?
The single most important thing: know your terminal number before you drive in. Your cruise line assigns it, and it's printed on your boarding documents. Each terminal has its own garage or lot right beside it — no shuttle.
Which Terminal Is Mine?
Port Canaveral's cruise terminals are spread along the harbor, split between the south basin and north basin. Match your cruise line to your terminal — parking is right there.
South Basin
CT1 · CT3 · CT5 · CT6Home to Carnival (its highest-volume terminals, CT3 & CT6), Royal Caribbean, and others. CT3 and CT1 have dedicated lots closest to the terminal buildings.
Disney's Terminal
CT8Disney Cruise Line sails from CT8, which has its own dedicated parking structure and access.
North Basin
CT10MSC and Norwegian use CT10, which parks in the north-basin surface lots.
The Drive-In, Step by Step

Head to the Space Coast. From Orlando it's about 45 minutes east on the 528 (Beachline). Plug your specific terminal into your GPS — not just "Port Canaveral" — so you arrive at the right basin.

Go to your terminal. Parking is adjacent to each terminal, so once you're at the right building you're at the right lot — no shuttle, no guessing.

Drop your bags first (optional but smart). Pull up curbside, hand your luggage to a porter (a few dollars per bag is customary), then go park.

Pay as you enter. Port Canaveral is pay-on-arrival, so have your card ready when you pull in. Then park and head to the terminal.

Walk to your terminal and check in. You're steps from the ship. On a busy Saturday (especially Carnival's CT3/CT6), arrive early — controlled traffic can slow the approach by 20–30 minutes at peak.
✈️ Coming From Orlando (MCO)?
Orlando International is about 45 miles / 45 minutes west. Cruise-line buses and shared shuttle companies run scheduled transfers, and rideshare works too — just note the airport doesn't run its own port shuttle.
⏰ When to Arrive
Follow your cruise line's assigned Port Arrival Time. Lots open at 10 a.m. on embarkation days, and with record passenger numbers the busiest terminals reward getting there earlier rather than later.

Where Should I Stay?
My honest, number-one piece of advice for any cruise: arrive the night before you sail. Here's why it matters, and how I can make it effortless.
Why Arrive a Day Early?
Flying in the same day your ship sails is the single most common way people add stress — and risk — to a cruise. One delayed flight and you can miss the boat entirely (ships don't wait). Arriving the night before takes all of that pressure off:
😴 A relaxed start
You wake up rested and minutes from the port instead of racing across the state on sail day.
🛩️ A weather cushion
A delayed or canceled flight the day before is an inconvenience — not a missed cruise.
🏖️ A head start on vacation
Cocoa Beach is 10 minutes away — sneak in a sunset walk before you ever board.
Where to Base Yourself
Two great areas depending on your plans:
- 🏖️Cocoa Beach & Cape Canaveral — Just 10 minutes from the terminals, with beachfront hotels and rentals. The best choice for a relaxed pre-cruise night by the water.
- 🎝️Orlando / near MCO — Handy if you're flying in late or tacking on theme-park days. You'll drive over the morning of, so build in time for traffic.

Do I need to reserve a parking spot?
No — Port Canaveral doesn't take parking reservations. There's plenty of parking at every terminal, including oversized spaces for RVs and buses. Just pay as you pull in on the day.
How much is parking, exactly?
$20.00 per day plus tax, the same for cars and RVs, counting both your arrival and departure days. (The port raised it from $17 in late 2025.) There's no weekly cap or AAA discount at the port lots.
How far is Orlando airport?
